FOR WHOM ARE WE TO PRAY?

I. Not only need to know how and for what to pray, also for WHOM

II. For WHOM shall we pray?

A. “All Men” (1 Timothy 2:1-2) “I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

B. Any Christian (Ephesians 6:18) “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching thereunto with all perserverance and supplication for all saints.”

C. Our Enemies (Matthew 5:43-48)

D. Erring Christians (2 Peter 2:20) “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.”

F. Those who are lost (Romans 10:1) “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved.”

G. Laborers for the Harvest (Matthew 9:38) “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.”

H. That every soul may hear the Gospel (2 Thessalonians 3:1) “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you.”
